CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH EXAMINER TRAINING
We offer the opportunity for training for teachers and specialists in English who want to become speaking examiners, supervisors, or invigilators for international Cambridge English exams. Our training prepares participants to fulfill key roles during Cambridge English exams, including assessing candidates’ language skills and managing the examination process.
Requirements for Written and Speaking Examiners:
- Be responsible, conscientious, adhere to deadlines, and accurately complete assessment sheets.
- Accept and apply feedback and guidelines.
- Have access to a computer and the internet to participate in online certifications.
- Be available for annual certification meetings.
- Be available to work during a significant part of the examination period.
- Dress appropriately and be sensitive to local cultural norms, so that candidates can provide an adequate sample of their English speaking skills.
Supervisors and Invigilators:
Supervisors and invigilators are responsible for overseeing the conduct of written and speaking exams. The training prepares for these roles, providing participants with knowledge of examination procedures, organizational rules, and standards of behavior during the exams. Supervisors and invigilators are key individuals responsible for the proper conduct of the exam, adherence to regulations, and support for candidates during examination sessions. Continuous recruitment is available in the following voivodeships: Greater Poland, Lower Silesia, Lubusz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Opole.
Professional Education:
- Higher education (at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
- Students of philological studies are also welcome
Language Competencies:<br>
Speaking examiners must demonstrate:
- Language proficiency, including grammatical accuracy at least at the B2 CEFR level.
- Clear diction and intelligibility, which is also appropriate outside the region/country where the exam takes place.
Speaking Examiner
The speaking examiner plays a key role in assessing the language skills of the candidate. The assessment of speaking skills usually accounts for at least 20% of the candidate’s overall score. Accurate and standardized assessments contribute to the reliability of the results. Candidates for examiners learn how to objectively and precisely assess speaking skills, which directly affects the credibility and accuracy of examination results. Training is held once a year for individual voivodeships: Greater Poland, Lower Silesia, Lubusz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Opole.
Minimum Professional Requirements for Speaking Examiners:
Professional Education:
- Higher education (at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
- Recognized qualifications to teach English
- Evidence of significant and relevant teaching experience over the past 2-3 years, preferably equivalent to at least 1800 hours.
Language Competencies:<br>
- Language proficiency, including grammatical accuracy, at least two CEFR levels higher than the exam level.
- Clear diction and intelligibility, which is also appropriate outside the region/country where the exam takes place.
- The ability to assess the correctness, adequacy, and appropriateness of spoken language at the appropriate exam level.
